DUBLIN, Ireland, June 17, 2025— Pearse Lyons Distillery, the family-owned Dublin-based distillery celebrated for its commitment to innovation, heritage, and sustainability, proudly announces a major expansion into the United Kingdom through a strategic partnership with JBE Imports. This move marks a pivotal moment in the brand’s global growth strategy while reinforcing its commitment to the European and U.S. markets.

The UK launch will officially debut at this year’s Bar Convent London (BCB London), taking place June 30–July 1, one of the leading international trade shows celebrating the best of the hospitality and drinks industry. The partnership with JBE Imports—founded in 2013 by a team with over 20 years of excellence in building premium brands and delivering memorable experiences—will ensure Pearse Lyons’ range of distinctive Irish spirits reaches new audiences with the care and passion they deserve.

Global Growth, Innovation and Visitor Experiences on the Horizon

As part of its broader global vision, Pearse Lyons Distillery has expanded its export team to accelerate market development across Europe and other international regions. This dedicated team allows for a sharper focus on emerging opportunities while strengthening relationships in key export destinations.

The U.S. remains the largest market for Irish whiskey, accounting for roughly 40% of global exports. To support this critical region, Pearse Lyons is reinforcing its U.S. presence through its sister distillery, Town Branch Distillery in Lexington, Kentucky. By realigning assets toward long-term spirits development, the brand ensures consistent, dedicated support for U.S. partners and consumers. This strategy also positions Pearse Lyons to better navigate potential headwinds—such as looming tariffs—through a more integrated sales and marketing approach.

Looking ahead, the distillery is preparing for a wave of product innovation in 2025 and 2026 to support the planned expansions while exciting its existing and new partners. This innovation will be done by deepening its commitment to sustainability and agriculture to drive innovation which will include access to estate-grown grain expressions, upcycled barrel finishes and blends and its commitment to Bord Bia’s Origin Green programme which the distillery is currently a Gold Membership Recipient for ongoing sustainability initiatives for the past three years running.

Whiskey Live Dublin is always a highlight on our calendar, and this year was no exception. As a proud and consistent participant in Ireland’s largest whiskey event, we were delighted to return to the RDS to showcase the passion, craft, and innovation that define our distillery. Over the course of the weekend, we had the pleasure of sharing our full range of Pearse Lyons Distillery expressions — as well as a few exciting behind-the-scenes samples we’re working on — with whiskey lovers from across Ireland and beyond.

Our stand was buzzing with energy throughout the weekend, and it was a joy to engage with so many curious and knowledgeable guests. From first-time tasters to seasoned enthusiasts, we loved the opportunity to share our story, answer questions, and hear firsthand what people are enjoying in Irish whiskey today. Events like this are a reminder of the vibrant and growing community that surrounds the industry, and how important it is to keep innovating while staying true to our roots.

It was also a chance to reconnect with friends and peers across the sector and to witness the remarkable progress being made throughout Irish whiskey. Our team — Conor (Head of Production), James (Brand Ambassador), Kaitlyn (Brand Home Manager), Grace (Marketing Manager), and Liam (Distillery Storyteller) — had a fantastic time representing the distillery and soaking up the spirit of the event. Did you know we have beehives on-site at Pearse Lyons Distillery? 🍯 As part of Bee8, an environmentally sustainable social enterprise in Dublin’s Liberties, we house two beehives as part of our commitment to community and sustainability.

One of our beekeepers Declan, recently gave us a behind-the-scenes look at a hive inspection. The good news? Our hives are thriving! With strong colony numbers, we supplemented them with fondant to support their energy levels as they transition into spring.

While the recent unseasonably warm weather in Dublin has made our hives appear active, we still need to wait a few more weeks before conducting full inspections. Early signs are promising—our bees are busy, the colony is strong, and we’re optimistic for a great start to the season. A successful spring means a healthy queen, growing brood, and plenty of food stores to sustain them during peak foraging months.

Declan even harvested some honey, and our team got to sample it—it was absolutely delicious!

Here is what Declan had to say about being one of our beekeepers:

“It’s a buzz. I find it very therapeutic. You sort of go into a meditation when you are doing the inspections. Even the buzzing. You can’t focus on anything else. You must go both as quick as you can and slow as you can. You must be very easy and slow taking the frames out, but you can’t have the hive open too long as they will get agitated.”

Gold Membership is the highest and most prestigious standard in the Bord Bia Origin Green programme. Pearse Lyons Distillery’s consistent improvement in the use of recycled and recyclable materials in product packaging, increased efficiencies in how raw materials are utilized, sustained waste reduction and community engagement were the basis for achieving this highly coveted status.

Pearse Lyons Distillery has been awarded four prestigious medals at The Spirits Business Irish Whiskey Masters 2023. Pearse 7 Years Distillers Choice Irish Whiskey received a Master medal — the highest accolade to be awarded — in the Blended – Premium category, while Ha’penny Four Cask received Gold in the Blended – Whiskey category, Pearse Lyons Genesis Release received Gold in the Single Malt – Super Premium category, and Pearse Lyons Pot Still received Gold in the New Make category.

“We are delighted and honoured to have received these awards, as it was very competitive, with 113 entries from 28 different companies, and the entries were blind tasted by a panel of international industry experts,” said Conor Ryan, head of production operations at Pearse Lyons Distillery. “These awards showcase Pearse Lyons Distillery’s commitment to every aspect of whiskey production: from growing our own grain, to using the best possible barrels sourced from Town Branch Distillery for optimal spirit maturation, and then finally to the craft of whiskey blending.”

Masters – Blended Premium

Pearse 7 Years Distillers Choice – 43% ABV

This expression of Pearse Irish Whiskey has been the flagship Whiskey product and most successful seller for Pearse Lyons Distillery for many years. It previously was awarded – Best Blended Irish Whiskey under 12 Years Old for two consecutive years at the World Whiskies Awards.

Pearse Distillers Choice is a malt forward, malt and grain Whiskey blend aged in a combination of former Town Branch Bourbon, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale Casks and Sherry barrels for 7-10 years.

Gold – Blended Whiskey

Ha’penny Four Cask – 43% ABV

Ha’penny Four Cask Irish Whiskey is a very versatile and multi award winning Whiskey. It was created using four different cask types and two styles of whiskey. The Whiskey is a combination Port Pipe Malt, Town Branch Bourbon Barrel Malt, Sherry Butt Grain & Double Charred Barrel Grain.

Gold – Single Malt Super Premium

Pearse Genesis Release – 57.1% ABV

Pearse Lyons Genesis Release is the first Dublin Distilled Single Malt Whiskey to be produced on the Altar of St James. It is the culmination of the work of generations of the Lyons family in the Dublin Whiskey industry. Five generations of Coopers, before Dr. Pearse Lyons started distilling in Dublin in 2017 and with Dr. Mark Lyons now being the 7^th Generation. This inaugural Release is a vatting of just four hand selected casks. This award follows the recent award for this whiskey as being awarded, Best New Irish Whiskey at the Irish Whiskey Awards.

Gold – New Make

Pearse Pot Still New Make

Pearse Pot Still New Make is a mixed mashbill of Malted and Unmalted Grains, Double Distilled. New Make showcases the true spirit and essence of the whiskey being produced at Pearse Lyons. Also, the fact it was made using their own grown grain from the Lyons family farm is a testament to the top quality of the product being grown there using Alltech’s Crop Science products. This highlights that the extra efforts put into having an excellent in-house supply of grain can be tasted in the final product.
